New Backpack and New Revelations

I bought a new backpack from REI, and received it in the mail yesterday afternoon. Being the impetuous lad that I am, I immediately loaded it down with 20 pounds of bricks and this morning put it on and took a walk to the Mohican State Campground.

This is where the “Revelations” come in.

1. It is easier to walk 20 miles without a backpack than 5 miles with one loaded with bricks.

2. I’m not as young as I used to be.

3. Whoever said that “With Age Comes Wisdom” was obviously not speaking about me.

4. I walked about 8 – 3/4 miles, and took four 10 minute breaks before I got home. (I can usually walk 10 miles with no breaks)

I’ll let you know how this works out in a few days,
